My life on the streets of Grahamstown is always the same: violent.”
These words start the realistic depiction of the struggle to survive on the city’s streets. The hour-long play My Life on the Streets of Grahamstown tackles a range of issues that may seem shockingly remote to many, but to the actors they are a re-enactment of the lives that they had before getting a chance to walk the stage, with the support of the Eastern Cape Provincial Arts and Culture Council (ECPACC) and the Makana Municipality.
