Ever wondered what to do with all the options at Fest? I mean, there are only 11 days to explore everything that this wonderful place has to offer – and you still need to eat! The Village Green is a Festival favourite, featuring a wide variety of well-stocked food stalls. Join us at Cue for our pick of THREE vegetarian food options at the Green you definitely can’t miss out on.

These wonderfully filling bites of bliss are accompanied with wonderful service, and a big selection of different sauces that you can have with them (or not, it’s all up to you!). They are basically huge hashbrowns, clearly made with lots of love and care. I can’t count the amount of people that asked me today “Ohhh, what is that?” when they saw me munching on them for lunch. You can choose to have up to four sauces or toppings with your kartoffel – options including mushroom sauce, chili sauce, garlic and herb, butternut, peppadew and cheese, biltong, cinnamon, and biltong. Personally, I would recommend this to everyone who wants to find something different but delicious.

My friend, Sam Spiller, and another friend, Brad Lang, engaged in some conversation while they dug into these delightful bundles. It went as follows:

Sam: I don’t know about you Brad, but this is making me so happy right now.

Brad: *muffled food noises, with vigorous nods of agreement*

These pockets of pleasure have a variety of things that you can have with them; halloumi (you can even order more halloumi to have with your halloumi), falafel, chicken, lamb, calamari, as well as a variety of sauce selections and pita breads. A true tribute to how wonderful greek food can be, I definitely recommend stopping by to give these ones a try.

Chip n’ Dip

If you ever need a walk down memory lane, this is the place to be.

Even if you have never experienced these tantalizing treats, they will make you feel like you are back in your childhood with tomato sauce all over your fingers and crispy chips all over your mouth. However, the difference is that you can choose from a variety of sauces; cheese, honey and mustard, mushroom, and many more that I can’t even remember. The choices are limitless, and this little snack is the perfect thing to keep you going through the day.

All these foods and more are available at the Standard Bank Village Green Fair, every day from 09:00 – 17:00.
