Storytelling with a comic quirk

Lebogang Mogashoa has comedy in his blood. In his hilarious and quirky When We Were Nearly Young, he takes us through a comic retelling of the “stories that come after four glasses of wine”.

Mogashoa’s intimate portrayal of important moments in life – such as his first kiss and the “fat shaming ninjas” that haunt us all – provides a light-hearted mix of enlightenment and humour.

After surviving diet blackouts, a supposed North Korean war, and sexual escapades that will leave you in stitches, Mogashoa demonstrates that storytelling and fun are as natural to him as being on stage.

Through his mixture of personal anecdotes and tales, the audience is made to feel as if they are sitting on his couch giggling with an old friend. When We Were Nearly Young is a hilarious and moving reminder that, among all the chaos, we’re all human. And we all deserve to smile about that.
